Julius Bloomfield has served as Mayor of Penticton since 2022, following four years as a City Councillor.
With a background in business, real estate, construction and hospitality, Julius brings a broad range of experience to local government and a deep commitment to the community he calls home.
PENTICTON HAS COME A LONG WAY. THERE'S MORE TO DO.
Over the past four years, Penticton has made meaningful progress on some of the challenges facing our community — from housing and public safety to building a more vibrant and connected city.
But the work isn't finished.
As Penticton faces new challenges, from economic uncertainty and food security to increasingly intense natural disasters, Julius believes our city needs steady leadership, thoughtful planning and a willingness to find new solutions.
That work is already underway. From strengthening our response to social issues and improving public safety to advancing housing and investing in our community, Julius has focused on taking action on the issues that matter most to Penticton.

Julius Bloomfield’s path to City Hall has taken him through many different parts of community life.
Before becoming Mayor of Penticton in 2022, Julius served four years as a City Councillor.
But his connection to the community began long before politics. He worked in construction, owned and operated pubs in both the UK and Canada, and later built a career in real estate, including co-owning a real estate office in Penticton.
Those experiences gave Julius a first-hand understanding of the realities facing local businesses, homeowners, workers and families.
His commitment to community has also taken many forms. He served as President of the Downtown Penticton Association and was a founding member of a local urban agriculture group.
Growing up with parents who were both social workers also shaped his understanding of the importance of compassion, community and social care.
Today, Julius continues to live a life that keeps him connected to the land and the community he serves. He owns a farm and lives in an off-grid home that he built himself in 2007.
Since becoming Mayor, Julius has focused on addressing Penticton’s social challenges, advancing housing for people of all ages, creating a vibrant community through recreation and leisure, and building the services and infrastructure needed to ensure Penticton remains a place people are proud to call home for generations to come.
